Adding links to other pages/websites


Creating a Link (Old Editor)

Within the editor, it is easy to add a link to a another page or document within your site, or to another website entirely. Before going through the steps below, make sure you are in the Manage Pages section and are editing the page you would like to create the link on. You should be in the area where you can add and edit the content in the page.

  1. Select the text that you want to link from.
  2. Click the 'Insert/Edit Link' iconlink.gifon the editor's toolbar. This will open a pop-up window. If you have a popup blocker, hold down the shift key while you click on the icon.
  3. Select your link type:
    • Pages - Lists the same set of pages that exist in your page listing under manager pages.
    • Website Images - Any images within your image manager.
    • URL - If the page you want to link to doesn't appear in one of the above lists, you can paste the URL (or link) directly in. You must first copy it from your website when you are viewing it in your browser.
    • Email - If you want the website user to send an email.
    • Link to anchor in the text - If you have created an page anchor, it will list it in the following drop down.
  4. You will then either need to select the appropriate page, or type the URL directly into the following text box.
  5. You can also change whether the page link opens the page in a newwindow by clicking on the 'Target' tab and selecting 'New Window(_blank)'.
  6. Click the OK button to save and create the link.
  7. Test the link and make sure it works.

Creating a Link (New Editor)

  1. Hover over the area with the text/image/button you wish to link.
  2. Click the pencil located in the top right.
  3. iIf it is a text box Select the text that you want to link from.
  4. Click the 'Insert/Edit Link' iconon the editor's toolbar. This will open a pop-up window. If you have a popup blocker, hold down the shift key while you click on the icon.
  5. Select your link type:
    • Pages - Lists the same set of pages that exist in your page listing under manager pages.
    • Website Images - Any images within your image manager.
    • URL - If the page you want to link to doesn't appear in one of the above lists, you can paste the URL (or link) directly in. You must first copy it from your website when you are viewing it in your browser.

  7. You can also change whether the page link opens the page in a new window by clicking on the 'Target' tab and selecting 'New Window(_blank)'.
  8. To add links to images or buttons there are linking options available after hovering over the item and clicking on the pencil in the top right, these consist of selecting your desired options from the dropdowns under "link" and target.
  9. Click the OK button to save and create the link
  10. Test the link and make sure it works.

Changing a Link (Old Editor/New Editor Text Box)

  1. Select the link you want to change.
  2. Click on the hyperlink button link.gifin the toolbar. You might have to hold down the 'shift' key if you have popup blockers.
  3. Change the link the same way that you created it before.

Removing a link (Old Editor/New Editor Text Box)

  1. Select the link that you want to remove.
  2. Click on the "Unlink" icon unlink.gif

Removing a link from other objects such as buttons or images

  1. Hover over the button or image you wish to remove the link from.
  2. Click the pencil in the top right of the box which is shown.
  3. set the dropdown under "link" to none.
  4. Click save, then Click save on the bottom left of your editor tools window on the left of your screen.
