I can receive emails, but cannot send them

When sending email from software such as Outlook Express, a protocol called SMTP is generally used, which is usually assigned to port 25. To prevent unsolicited emails (spam) and viruses being sent via email, some Internet Service Providers (ISP) are blocking this port so that it is only possible to send email through their SMTP servers.

Solution

If you are having problems sending email, try using your ISP's SMTP address for your outgoing mail server. If this doesn't work, then please contact your ISP for a solution to sending email by SMTP. The following is a list of ISPs we have the outgoing mail (SMTP) servers for:

  • Optus: mail.optusnet.com.au
  • Bigpond Dial-up/ISDN/Satellite: mail.bigpond.com
  • Bigpond Cable broadband: mail-hub.bigpond.net.au
  • AAPT: mail.aapt.net.au
  • TPG: mail.tpg.com.au
  • iiNet: mail.m.iinet.net.au
  • Ozemail: smtp.ozemail.com.au
  • Internode: mail.internode.on.net
  • Dodo: mail.dodo.com.au
  • Primus: smtp.primus.com.au
  • PrimusOnline: smtp.primusonline.com.au
  • Westnet: mail.westnet.com.au
  • OnTheNet: mail.onthenet.com.au
  • Three: smtp.three.com.au

If you know the SMTP servers of other ISPs who block port 25, please let us know so we can add them.
